Maryland State Police are investigating a robbery early Wednesday at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Hagerstown.
The robbery at the store at 19340 Leitersburg Pike, just north of Long Meadow Shopping Center, was reported at 1:53 a.m., state police said in a news release.
A man entered the store, went behind the counter and demanded money from the cashier, the release said.
He did not display a weapon, according to police.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled and was last seen running from the rear of the store, police said.
State troopers, assisted by Washington County sheriff’s deputies and Hagerstown Police Department officers, searched the area but the man could not be found.
The man was described as 6 feet to 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing more than 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflaged hooded sweat shirt and camouflage mask, police said.
