The following food service establishments were inspected by the Washington County Health Department in September 2010 and found to have critical violations that needed to be corrected immediately:

AC&T, 1449 S. Potomac St. — *Hot dogs, kielbasa and Chicago-style hot dogs at inadequate hot-hold temperature (corrected: discarded and grill temperature turned up); must clean vent covers (corrected); must clean floor of walk-in freezer.

Freddie's Subs, 18210 W. Oak Ridge Drive — *Sliced tomatoes above required temperature (corrected: placed in reach-in refrigerator to rechill); ground beef stored above ready-to-eat cheese in three-door reach-in refrigerator and hamburgers stored above vegetables on other side of three-door reach-in refrigerator (corrected); must clean vent covers in men's and women's restrooms.

Gandolfo's New York Deli, 491 Prime Outlets Blvd. — *Dented can of marinara sauce in dry storage area (corrected: removed); *pastrami in ice bath above cold-hold temperature (corrected: rechilled); light out in walk-in freezer; boxes of tomatoes stored on floor in walk-in cooler; must clean inside of microwave (corrected); insufficient lighting in walk-in cooler.

J.R. Steakery, 489 Prime Outlets Blvd. — *Sliced tomato at sandwich prep unit above cold-hold temperature (corrected: discarded); must clean wall next to slicer and sink; hand sink across from ice machine blocked by boxes of boxes for soda dispenser and a bowl in sink (corrected); ceiling tile missing in back kitchen; package of beef oxtails stored above bread in walk-in cooler (corrected); insufficient lighting in walk-in cooler.

Murray's Citgo, 101 Sunset Ave., Williamsport — *Sandwich prep unit temperature inadequate (corrected: stocked for less than two hours so items moved to another unit to rechill); must clean/replace cutting board.

Roy Rogers Restaurant, 100 N. Burhans Blvd. — *Baked beans and pulled pork below required hot-hold temperature (corrected; both removed and reheated); insufficient sanitizer level in sanitizer container for wiping cloth (corrected).

Sodexo at Volvo Powertrain, 13302 Pennsylvania Ave. — *Dented cans of applesauce and mandarin oranges at dry storage area (corrected: removed); must clean vents in skylight; insufficient level of sanitizer in bucket with wiping cloth (corrected); insufficient lighting in walk-in units; lights out in three-door reach-in refrigerator (corrected).

Waffle House, 10422 Sharpsburg Pike — *Grits below required hot-hold temperature (corrected: discarded); broken floor tiles next to orange juice dispenser; dishwasher wash temperature gauge indicates insufficient temperature and pressure gauge unreadable so must repair pressure gauge and wash temperature gauge — rinse temperatures hot enough to sanitize; insufficient lighting in storage area; sanitizing cloths on countertops not stored in sanitizing solution/bucket (corrected).

Walmart Supercenter, 17850 Garland Groh Blvd. — *Severely dented can of baked beans (corrected: removed); ice accumulation on floors in walk-in freezers; must replace damaged light shields in walk-in cooler; must seal all holes and gaps in back storage room.

Your Country Store, 17035 Fairview Road — *Chicken salad in sandwich prep unit at inadequate temperature (corrected: discarded); plastic forks and spoons stored for dispensing without handle only out (corrected); must clean inside of microwave oven (corrected); must clean walk-in cooler under milk shelf, can opener, vent covers above ice bag freezer, and floor under onion bag and milk crates inside walk-in cooler; floor under ice machine is wet and needs cleaning; boxes of food stored on floor of walk-in freezer.

Break Away II Sports Lounge, 13726 Pennsylvania Ave. — Must repair screen in screen door to outdoors; must clean inside of microwaves, ceiling near vent hood above two-door reach-in refrigerator, and vent cover in men's restroom; must clean can-opener (corrected); lights out in dish room, dry storage and kitchen along cook line (light bulb changed in dry storage area); need light shield in walk-in cooler for crabs; insufficient lighting in walk-in units; must repair coving in men's restroom - missing pieces of coving.

Bulls & Bears, 38 S. Potomac St. — Soap dispenser empty in convenience store (corrected); must clean tong holder for hot dogs (corrected); wet towel not in sanitizer (corrected); no sanitizer in convenience store (corrected); sanitizer for knives is too strong (corrected).

Burger King, 10516 Sharpsburg Pike — Must clean exhaust vents in men's and women's restrooms and floor under ice chest/soda dispenser; light out in walk-in cooler; need to seal all ceiling penetrations.

China Gourmet, 625 Dual Highway — Must clean walls in walk-in refrigerator and around light; must repair screen door corners.

China Max, 488 Prime Outlets Blvd. — Scoop without handle used for sugar, rice and soy sauce and potato starch; soy sauce stored in non-food grade container; need test strips for chlorine; packets of soda stored in ice machine (soda removed from ice); plastic forks stored for dispensing without handles all facing same direction.

The Corner Pub, 158 S. Mulberry St. — Need Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point plan.

Courtside Cafe, Hagerstown Community College, 11400 Robinwood Drive — Must clean air vents above soda fountain.
