A Sharpsburg man charged this week with raping a woman in November was being held without bail at the Washington County Detention Center.
Alexander Scott Walter Sr., 23, of 16727 Sprecher Road, is charged with first- and second-degree rape, first-, second-, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, two counts of second-degree assault, false imprisonment, theft and malicious destruction of property, according to District Court records.
Though the alleged incident occurred Nov. 16, the application for statement of charges was privately filed by the alleged victim on Wednesday, according to court records.
In the charging document, the woman wrote that she and Walter were having dinner at a restaurant and she told him she had to leave to pick up her child, the document said. She left, but Walter sent her a text message saying he needed a ride to his home and she picked him up at the home of a relative of Walter’s, the document said.
During the drive, Walter threatened to kill her, choked her and punched her in the head, the charging document said. At one point, Walter wanted to drive and she got into the passenger seat, the document said.
Walter began to sexually assault her in the vehicle then drove to his house and took the child inside, the charging document said. He then told her to come inside, hid her keys and sexually assaulted her again, the document said.
Walter had been charged and jailed on Jan. 1 on unrelated charges, including first-degree assault, court records said. That incident occurred Christmas Eve, court records said.
“He’s going to be held without bond. He’s an extreme danger to the community,” visiting District Judge Janice R. Ambrose said at the end of a Thursday bond review hearing.
