WILLIAMSPORT —A 17-year-old female from Williamsport was taken to Meritus Medical Center with minor injuries Sunday morning after the car she was driving hit a concrete bridge on Dam No. 4 Road, said Deputy 1st Class Josh McCauley of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident, in the 3200 block of Dam No. 4 Road, was called in at 9:58 a.m. Sunday, McCauley said. The accident occurred near Dellinger Road, he said.
That area, south of Williamsport, is a couple of blocks after Downsville Pike turns into Dam No. 4 Road.
A 2002 Toyota passenger car was heading north Sunday morning on Dam No. 4 Road when, for an unkown reason, it went off the road, went up on the guardrail leading to the small concrete bridge and hit the side wall of the bridge, McCauley said.
The car had to be towed, McCauley said.
The bridge, which is over a stream, was not damaged, McCauley said. The bridge is not historical, he said.
