Allegany Dental Care is helping Boy Scout Troop 66 with its “Scouting for Food” drive.
Residents are asked to drop off nonperishable food items at Allegany’s three local offices: 19418 Leitersburg Pike, 22109 Jefferson Blvd., or 17719 Virginia Ave. The offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Food donations will go to the Parent Child Center in Hagerstown.
Items will be accepted until Nov. 4.
Troop 66 meets at First Christian Church in Hagerstown.

Four members of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0462 in Smithsburg went to the fall rally in Bel Air, Md.
Fall rally awards were presented to the chapter officers, the best losers over the summer and for perfect attendance over the summer.
The chapter had a contest with the other Hagerstown TOPS chapters to see which chapter could have the most no-gain summer meetings. The Smithsburg chapter won the contest. The next contest will see which chapter can lose the most weight per member from now until the end of March.
On Thursday, Oct. 20, Area Captain Parilee Barber will visit the chapter and lead the program on smart eating.
The chapter meets Thursdays at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 51 S. Main St. in Smithsburg. Weigh-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting is from 6 to 7 p.m.

Church to hold health fair
Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church will hold a health fair Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The fair will include blood pressure checks, food demonstrations and other health-related activities.
The church is at 11507 Robinwood Drive.

Smithsburg High juniors selling tree ornaments
The Smithsburg High School junior class is selling purple and gold tree ornaments.
The ornaments cost $10. Proceeds will help pay for the prom.
