Boonsboro High School will celebrate homecoming this weekend.
Representing the student body on the homecoming court are Trish Hawkins, Emily Lum, Whitney Durr, Amber Smith, Tori Poffenberger, Britton Beard, Josh Haden, Caleb Jardeleza, J.R. Lowery and J.T. Rice.
The annual powder puff game will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
The homecoming football game against Hedgesville (W.Va.) High School is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. Friday.
A pancake breakfast will be Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. in the school cafeteria.

Recycling task force to offer solar program
Boonsboro Recycling Task Force will present a program on “Solar Power for Your Home” at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the community center at Boonsboro’s Shafer Park.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.

Church has new sign
Greenbrier Baptist at the intersection of Md. 66 and U.S. 40, just north of Boonsboro, has taken yet another step to let the public know that all are welcome there. The church recently installed a 10-by-10-foot LED programmable sign that announces service times and special events. One of the occasions you will see on it this week is its fall festival Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m. The festival will include three musical groups, children’s games and food. The event is free and open to the public.
Basket bingo planned at Legion
Clopper Michael American Legion Post in Boonsboro will hold a basket bingo Saturday, Oct. 22. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the games will begin at 6 p.m. The $20 ticket price will include alternating cash and basket games. No outside food or beverages will be permitted, but refreshments will be available. Spaghetti dinner planned Oct. 22
Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, at 134 S. Main St. in Boonsboro, will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $8 for adults, $4 for those ages 6 to 12, and are free for those younger than 6. The meal includes homemade sauce with either meatballs or sausage, a side of garlic bread and salad. Desserts will be available to purchase for $1.

Rohrersville Ruritan plans oyster dinner
The Rohrersville Ruritan will hold a fall oyster dinner Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rohrersville School. Bring containers for takeout orders.
