TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077 recorded losses of 20 1/4 pounds for the week.
Joann S. and Millie T. were the best TOPS losers. The best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) losers were Lu M. and Darla H.
Judy won the ha-ha prize.
The Daffodils team won the weekly team loss challenge with a 3 3/4-pound loss.
There will be a new challenge for the fall rally. Each TOPS member is encouraged to lose five pounds per month. KOPS members are encouraged to be at or below their goal weight. If this is achieved, there will be a small prize for those who accomplish the goal.
Rosemary G. presented the program on gluttony. She said gluttony means overeating. She said if members were to cut their portion in half, eat slower, cut out snacking between meals, and eat more fruits and vegetables, they would see a difference.
She suggested that when eating out, members could bring half of their serving home to eat at a later time.
The group then had a discussion on what triggers eating and how they can overcome emotional eating.
They were told there are no excuses for gaining weight. Consistency is the key to a successful weight loss.
The group meets Mondays at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown.
