Country breakfast planned

Wreath-laying planned

Antietam Unit 236 of the American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a wreath-laying ceremony Monday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. in the Sharpsburg Town Square.

The service will include the 167th Airlift Wing Base Honor Guard from Martinsburg, W.Va., the Boonsboro High School chorus, under the direction of Paula Boyd, Antietam National Park Service Ranger Keith Snyder and fourth- and fifth-graders from Sharpsburg Elementary School.

All veterans are encouraged to attend.

The public is invited to help honor those who have served in the military.

 

Oyster dinner

Benevola United Methodist Church, at 19925 Benevola Church Road, will hold an oyster dinner Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at the church social hall.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for those 10 and younger.

The menu will include fried oysters, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, sauerkraut, corn, green beans, applesauce, assorted desserts, iced tea, lemonade and coffee.

 

Items offered free

Benevola United Methodist Church, at 19925 Benevola Church Road, will offer cleaning supplies and hygiene products free of charge the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.

Cleaning supplies will include paper towels, laundry detergent, liquid dish detergent, bleach and all-purpose cleaners.

Hygiene products will include bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, facial tissues, baby wipes, baby powder, disposable diapers, single roll-toilet paper and feminine care items.

The items are offered to the community as a part of the church’s Bountiful Blessings outreach project.

 

Breakfast to be held

Potomac Valley Fire Co. in Dargan will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee and orange juice Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the fire hall.

Tickets cost $6 and children eat free.
