Dahlgren succeeds Jim Mills, who served as club president in 2011-12.
The club, which meets at Nick’s Airport Inn on Monday evenings, is involved in finding ways to improve the community through fundraising and projects that build the community.
For example, the club provided seed money for the Brook Lane Autism Clinic, which is the first autism clinic in the local area.
Rotary International is a global network of professional men and women who serve locally to build better communities.
North Hagerstown Lions Club installs officers
On June 21, North Hagerstown Lions Club Past District Gov. Susan Timmons installed officers for 2012-13.
The new officers are Jane Barvir, president; Sharon Dick, first vice president; Michael Eckstine, second vice president; Gail Lane, treasurer; and Jodi Ramsey, secretary.
Past District Gov. and outgoing President Bill Bulla was given a standing ovation in recognition of his decades of service to the international Lions and the community.
The club meets the first and third Thursdays of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Always Ron’s restaurant on Burhans Boulevard.
Recorded losses for the week for TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077 were 30 1/2 pounds.
L. Baker and Bea Myers were the best TOPS losers. Mary Jo Cunningham was the best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) loser.
The no-no snack for the week is doughnuts.
Susie Sword won the ha-ha prize. Charles House won the quarterly no-no prize for TOPS and Jean Betker won for KOPS.
More yellow roses were presented to individuals for encouragement from a special pal. The individual goal for July is a 5-pound loss.
Dorothy Martin presented the program on “What Does the TOPS Pledge Really Mean?” The meeting concluded with a group discussion of holiday food choices and strategies.
