Some sure signs of spring are all around us. The daffodils are peeking through in our gardens, the baseball diamonds are busy with young men and women getting ready for the upcoming season, and Girl Scout cookies are here. Check with your neighborhood Girl Scouts to score your favorites.
Boy Scouting growing in town
Boy Scouting is thriving in Funkstown. Just a short two years ago, there were only 12 Boy Scouts in Troop 23. That number has grown to more than 40. If you know a boy who might be interested, call Donald Harriman at 301-739-8992.
No previous Scouting experience is necessary. The troop meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the room above Town Hall. A special thank you to the Funkstown American Legion for sponsoring Scouting in Funkstown.
South High alumni to meet
The South Hagerstown High School Alumni Association invites all South High graduates to help with the planning of the upcoming golf tournament and the awarding of scholarships.
The group will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the media center at the school.
