Haven Lutheran's summer schedule begins

Haven Lutheran Church begins its summer worship schedule Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3. A spoken service is at 5 p.m. Saturdays; traditional worship is at 8:15 a.m. Sundays; and worship on the lawn is at 9:30 a.m. Dress casually, and bring lawn chairs or blankets for the lawn service. TOPS Chapter Md. 0077 achieved losses of 23 1/2 pounds for the week.
Janice Frye and JoAnn M. were the best TOPS losers. Jean Betker and Maida Law were the best KOPS losers. The no-no snack for the week is chips.
The Busy Bees won the weekly team weight- loss challenge with a 5-1/2 pound loss.
Dottie Alexander presented information on  the food-exchange system and how to count starches on your meal plan.
The Shining Stars for April were Linda Seibert and Charlie House. Honored KOPS were Nancy Itnyre, Cindy Ryder and Law.  Top losers for the month were Joan Jones, JoAnn M. and Emma Jean Robertson.  Mary Lou Edmands, Susie Sword and Cindy Ryder received charms for returning from vacation with a weight loss.  Birthday charms were earned by Louise Kline and Kathy Renner for losing weight the week before,  the week of and the week after their birthday.  Thirty-eight members had perfect attendance for the month of April.

Remembering a Herald-Mail co-worker
My deepest sympathy to Dave Daugherty’s family. He was my former co-worker and friend. He was a great guy who would do anything for anyone. He is going to be missed not only at The Herald-Mail, but by his family and friends.
