The award was made posthumously to Hershey’s family at the foundation’s 12th annual People’s Choice Awards event Nov. 13 at Saint James School.
The award was created by the board of trustees to recognize special citizens of the community who are involved in making the county a better place to live, work and play through their vision, leadership and their financial support in the same manner exhibited by Waltersdorf.
The Hershey family accepted the award in Jack Hershey’s memory from Brad Sell, executive director of the Community Foundation who said, “It is impossible to measure the impact Jack Hershey made on our community. His decades of service and example to his clients initiated tremendous charitable giving, and Jack and Anna led the way.”
