On Sunday at 10 a.m., the children and youth of Covenant Presbyterian Church will portray Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and Magi in a Christmas pageant that ends with a live nativity scene.
The children will be dressed in costumes. The preschool children will sing “Silent Night” and “Away in a Manager.”
The older children will recite a Christmas acrostic spelling out the meaning of C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S. The children come from Hagerstown, Waynesboro, Pa., and Silver Spring, Md.
Adult teachers come from Hagerstown, Waynesboro, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Williamsport and Maugansville will lead the children. The community is invited.
The church is at 11833 Greenhill Drive off Jefferson between Eastern Boulevard and Robinwood Drive.
Holiday pottery sale
Former Boonsboro potters Allison Severance and Blair Meerfeld have relocated to Cascade and will host their inaugural holiday pottery sale and open house Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
Their 1890 farmhouse will be decorated for the holidays, the fire lit, and the farm tables will display a wide variety of traditional and functional pottery — perfect for gift giving or for use in the kitchen and home when preparing and sharing food at family gatherings.
