Soup and sandwich sale

Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, at 22514 Cavetown Church Road in Cavetown, will hold a soup and sandwich sale Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Soups include vegetable beef, chicken corn and ham and bean. Sandwiches are steamers and hot dogs. 


The soup, sandwich and drink combo costs $5. Quarts of soup cost $6.

It will be eat in or carry out.

Travelogue series

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown presents its fourth program of the travelogue series featuring “The Silk Road, China to Turkey” Wednesday.

The program, at South Hagerstown High School auditorium, begins at 7:30 p.m.

The presenter will be Marlin Darrah, who will talk about the “Silk Road,” including Istanbul and other sites. Traveling by camel or on foot, traders and warriors of old transported treasures and wares along the road.

Single admission tickets are sold at the door on show nights. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
