Zumba classes offered at Pangborn Elementary
The Washington County Recreation Department will offer Zumba fitness classes at Pangborn Elementary School.
Zumba combines Latin rhythms with easy-to-follow moves to burn calories and energize your body.
The classes will be Saturdays with instructor Liz Martz from Jan. 7 to April 14 (no class April 7) from 8 to 8:45 a.m.
The classes cost $25 for county residents and $30 for nonresidents. The classes cost $16 for county residents 55 and older, and $20 for noncounty residents 55 and older.

Following weigh-in, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0446 held its annual Christmas luncheon. Marie E. was the thinner winner for the week with a loss of 3 pounds. After the meal, DeAnn officiated at the awards presentation for October and November.
The chapter meets Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road, Hagerstown. Weigh-in is from 8:45 to 9:20 a.m. For more information, call Mary or Tom at 301-797-2547, or Judy at 301-739-9279.
Losses for the week totaled 30 1/2 pounds for TOPS Chapter 0077.
The best TOPS losers were Joan Staub and Nancy Itnyer. The best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) losers were Rose Shockey and Judy Purdham.
Cleo Burger won the ha-ha prize. The no-no snack is candy.
Rewards Day results included the following: In November, 80 members weighed in and 42 achieved perfect attendance. The honored KOPS were Dottie Zimmerman, Audrey Smith and Pat Sipes. The best losers were Marlene Auda and Rosemary Gill.
Purdham received a birthday charm for no-gain weeks for the weeks before and after her birthday. Susie Sword and Elsie Horst received friendship awards for bringing in new members Joan Staub and Sue Young. Shining stars were Emma Jean Robertson and Joan Budny. Collections of donations for the homeless shelter continue.
The meeting after Christmas has been changed to Tuesday, Dec. 27, and the first meeting in January will be Tuesday, Jan. 3.
The group meets Monday mornings at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown.
