On Oct. 13, the Boy Scouts from Troop 23 in Funkstown performed a community service project with the help of the Rust-Oleum Corp.

The guard rail along the sidewalk was damaged by a vehicle last summer.

The Boy Scouts noticed that the whole rail was in need of paint and started looking for supplies.

After 1 1/2 hours of sanding and 3 1/2 hours of painting, the complete rail is again bright blue just like before.

The Rust-Oleum Corp. donated the paint for the guard rail.

For the next service project, the Scouts will paint the inside of the social room at Town Hall. The project should be completed in November so it will be ready for Old Tyme Christmas on Friday, Dec. 7. The Rust-Oleum Corp. also donated the paint for Town Hall.
