Fountain Rock Elementary Geography Bee

Fountain Rock Elementary School recently held the 2012 Geography Bee sponsored by National Geographic. Ten student finalists participated in a competition that tested knowledge of geography, including facts about U.S. and world geography and general information categories. Williamsport High School will host ninth- grade transition night Wednesday night, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. All current eighth-grade students who will attend Williamsport High School in the fall are encouraged to attend with their parents or legal guardians.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet the school administration, learn about the scheduling process and programs, and sign up for sports teams, activities, clubs and organizations.

Technical high school programs and academies at other schools will also be discussed.

Conococheague Little League registration set

Conococheague Little League will hold registration for tee ball, minor, little, junior, senior, and big leagues at the Williamsport Town Hall on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 9 and 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.; and on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration will be for youth ages 5 to 18. Those registering for the first time are required to bring three proofs of residency and birth certificate.

Clothes of Hope set schedule for February

Clothes of Hope Ministries at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., provides gently used and some new clothing. They will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday; Thursdays on Feb. 9 and 23; and Monday, Feb. 13. They will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, and Thursday, Feb. 16.

There is no charge for clothing. Monetary donations are accepted.

The Clothes of Hope will not be accepting any clothing donations until April 16.

P.R.A.Y. plans swim event

Providing Relief for Autistic Youth, Inc., or P.R.A.Y., in partnership with Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, will hold an evening of pool time from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at the 570 E. McKinley St., Chambersburg, Pa., location.

The event is open to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and family members. Advance payment of $4 per swimmer is required. YMCA members are free with identification.

One parent must accompany their child in the pool.
