The average price of gasoline this week has increased at both the national and local levels, according to the AAA Mid-Atlantic Weekend Gas Watch.

Regular grade gas in the area is averaging $3.66 per gallon, 5 cents higher than the state of Maryland average of $3.61, 10 cents higher than the national average of $3.56, and 8 cents higher than the local $3.58 average last week.

On Tuesday, the average price of gas in the area was $3.65, according to the AAA Fuel Price Finder at http://midatlantic.aaa.com.

The lowest and highest prices for regular gas in the area was the same as last week at $3.55 and $3.69 per gallon, respectively, according to the AAA Fuel Price Finder.

The 7-Eleven gas station on Dual Highway just west of Edgewood Drive was selling regular gas at $3.69 per gallon Tuesday. The company had midgrade gas at $3.85, while its 93-octane super premium grade was $3.95.

The Sheetz station on Virginia Avenue (U.S. 11) south of Halfway Boulevard was selling regular at $3.68 per gallon, but it was $3.65 per gallon with the store’s discount offers. The price for plus grade at  Sheetz was $3.78 per gallon, and 93-octane super-grade was $3.88.

The Sunoco gas station at the intersection of Dual Highway and Eastern Boulevard was also selling regular grade at $3.65 per gallon. It had plus at $3.75 a gallon, 92-octane premium at $3.82, and 93-octane ultra at $3.89.

At the Longmeadow Auto Repair and Fuel Center on Leitersburg Pike just south of Cortland Drive, regular grade was $3.67 per gallon. The company’s plus grade was $3.82 per gallon, and its supreme grade was $3.92.

The average price per gallon went down in Salisbury this week for regular grade from $3.56 to $3.54 per gallon, according to AAA. In Baltimore, it was $3.59 per gallon this week, while the average price in Maryland around theWashington, D.C., area was $3.65 and $3.68 in Cumberland.

Crude oil was at $103.24 per barrel on Friday, up from $98.67 per barrel the previous week and $86 per barrel this time last year.
