Clear Spring Road (Md. 68) near Williamsport was still closed between Bottom Road and Potomac Street (U.S. 11) Friday morning after a water main break that happened Thursday afternoon.
Water was no longer flowing down the road, however.
The road has been excavated between 15818 and 15820 Clear Spring Road.
Workers from the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) were still on the scene at 9:30 a.m.
SHA spokeswoman Heather Keels said the road would remain closed at least through Friday afternoon.
"We're working to reopen the road as quickly as possible," she said.
