A 20-year-old man accused of hitting another man in the face and robbing him Monday allegedly took $12 from the victim’s wallet, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Robert Lorenzo Stevenson of no fixed address was charged with one count of robbery. He was being held in Eastern Regional Jail Tuesday night on a $25,000 cash bond set hours earlier by Berkeley County Magistrate Harry L. Snow, who arraigned the defendant, according to court and jail records.

Stevenson was found with the money and two rounds of 9 mm ammunition, the court documents said.

The victim identified the defendant and told police he was attacked while walking along Rock Cliff Drive, the documents  said.

The victim said he was struck in the face. Police said he had bruising and swelling around his left eye and cheekbone, and several scratch marks on his face, the documents said.
