A man charged with vehicular homicide in a Nov. 16, 2011, crash pleaded not guilty this week in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, according to online court records and the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office.
Marlin L. Brown, 27, is charged with homicide by vehicle, speeding, careless driving, disregarding his traffic lane and reckless driving.
Chambersburg resident Derek A. Gonder died at York (Pa.) Hospital of injuries suffered in the Greencastle, Pa., crash. Gonder was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Brown.
The 2009 Honda Civic, which was being driven at a high rate of speed, went slightly off the east berm of Leitersburg Road and crossed the road before the passenger side hit a utility pole, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.
Police filed criminal charges on Jan. 3.
Brown’s address is alternately listed as Greencastle and Woodbridge, Va., in court documents.
