The man who died of a heart problem before crashing a minivan on U.S. 11 in Shippensburg Thursday was identified Friday as Harold H. Weaver Sr., 82, of Newville Pa., the Franklin County coroner said.

Weaver was driving a minivan south on U.S. 11, which is Molly Pitcher Highway, in the area of Rowe Road at about 2:13 p.m. when he experienced an acute cardiac event, causing his death, Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said in a news release.

The van left the road and struck a stone wall and a pole on the west side of the road, the release said.

Weaver was pronounced dead at 2:40 p.m., Conner said.
