MARTINSBURG, W.Va.—An 18-year-old man was shot Saturday afternoon outside his home, the Martinsburg Police Department said.

Investigators determined Pitters was talking to a person in a blue vehicle similar to a Chrysler PT Cruiser or a Chevrolet HHR when he was shot, police said. The vehicle, which had a Virginia license plate, then was driven from the scene, police said.
The West Virginia State Police crime scene team was called in to assist with the investigation, police said.
