West Virginia State Police said Monday that the bodies of two people found Friday after a fire at a mobile home in Berkeley County were those of a father and son.
The bodies of David Hutzler and his son, James Hutzler, were found in the debris of the mobile home after the fire was reported at about 8:25 a.m. at 436 Apple Harvest Drive west of Glengary, W.Va., Sgt. Ed Anderson said.
Anderson said he did not have ages for the father and son.
A published death notice listed David Hutzler’s age as 56 and his son, James Aquilla “Mack” Hutzler, as being 9 years old.
Anderson said he couldn’t comment on whether the fire was intentionally set.
West Virginia State Police Trooper J.D. Brand said Monday night that the investigation of the fire was continuing. Brand said state police will issue a statement when the investigation is completed.
When firefighters arrived Friday, they found heavy fire in the master bedroom, Patrick Barker, assistant West Virginia state fire marshal, said at the time.
