Mercersburg police on Tuesday released more information about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Nov. 16 or 17.
Police previously said a vehicle hit the Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce sign in the 400 block of Loudon Road while negotiating a curve. Half of the sign fell to the ground.
On Tuesday, police said they believe the crash was caused by a 1995 to 1998 maroon Chevrolet S10 model Blazer or pickup truck. That vehicle may have front-end damage.
The vehicle went between a power pole and guide wire, striking the guide wire before the sign. Police said the estimated value of the sign is $10,000.
