This year’s Nutcracker performance features students of Shepherdstown School of Dance, but also a large number of community members will be “party parents” in the opening act.

Two professional dancers will also be gracing the stage, including Kitty Clarke, contemporary modern dancer and founder of Goose Route Arts Collaborative, as the Mouse King. Playing the part of the Cavalier will be Jordan Nelson of Chicago, who has trained with the Ballet Chicago, interned with Royal Ballet in London, and is a dancer for the Suzanne Ferrell Dance Co.

Tickets are available at Shepherdstown School of Dance and Encore Apparel in Motion in Shepherdstown and are $13 in advance and $18 after Dec. 7. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Shepherdstown Elementary School and Shepherdstown Middle School PTA groups.
