ROUZERVILLE, Pa. —Washington Township, Pa., police have released the name of a Smithsburg, Md., man found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene of a vehicle crash early Tuesday.
David Heiston, 52, was driving the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado found with its engine on and its tires spinning shortly after 1:45 a.m. at 10952 Buchanan Trail East (Pa. 16), across from Patriot Federal Credit Union, police said.
Police said the cause of death would be released by Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner, who did not respond to messages Wednesday or Thursday.
Police said the pickup truck was westbound on Pa. 16 when it veered right and departed the right side of the road near AC&T. The vehicle knocked down a street sign, crossed the eastbound lane and left the south side of the road, where it hit a curb and shrubs in front of a house.
