A traffic accident late Tuesday knocked out the power of about 1,300 Potomac Edison customers in the area of Hedgesville, W.Va.

Potomac Edison spokesman Allen Staggers said the 11 p.m. accident on Hammonds Mill Road broke a utility pole, causing roughly 1,300 people to be without power.

He said the pole had to be replaced, and everything was back to normal by 7 a.m. Wednesday.
