Officials from the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, West Virginia University Health Sciences Center Eastern Division and West Virginia University Hospitals-East hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for Jefferson County’s newest urgent-care center.
WVU Urgent Care opened Oct. 15 in the WVU Medical Office Building, across from Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va. The clinic is staffed by WVU faculty physicians and offers evening and weekend hours.
Urgent Care treats patients of all ages for nonlife-threatening injuries. It is open Monday to Friday from 3 to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. No appointment is necessary, and most insurances are accepted.
Dr. K.C. Nau, dean of the WVU Health Sciences Center Eastern Division, said there are plans to expand the urgent care center’s hours beginning in January.
