The Waynesboro Borough Council on Wednesday passed a 2013 budget that holds property taxes steady at this year’s rate.
Taxes for the general fund will remain at 18.18 mills. A mill represents $1 for every $1,000 assessed property value.
Another 2 mills are dedicated for street lights, while 5 mills are designated for street improvements and stormwater system work.
The $8.9 million spending plan for 2013 includes the purchase of a pickup truck and a financial contribution to the Waynesboro Fire Department’s new firetruck, Borough Manager Lloyd Hamberger said previously.
“It’s just basically a hold-the-line budget,” he said.
The council passed the budget 5-0.
