CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. —A Waynesboro, Pa., man criminally charged in a vehicle crash that killed two people and seriously injured a third is scheduled to be in court Tuesday.
Agustin Macias-Marquez, 27, is scheduled for preliminary hearings. He is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, and other charges, including driving under the influence.
Chambersburg police said Macias-Marquez was driving Dec. 31 on Cleveland Avenue when he struck a vehicle driven by Nicholas Fortenberry, who was driving on McKinley Street. Police said the force of the impact sent both vehicles into a house on the corner of the intersection.
Fortenberry, of Shippensburg, Pa., remains in serious condition at York (Pa.) Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.
Two other people in the vehicle driven by Fortenberry have died.
Heather Coble, 25, of Shippensburg, was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital following the 12:16 a.m. crash, Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said.
Madison J. Perry, 24, also of Shippensburg, died Jan. 10 in York Hospital, according to his obituary.
Macias-Marquez is incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail on $350,000 bond, jail officials said Monday night.
