WAYNESBORO, Pa.—The triennial WaynesboroFest celebration kicks off in less than two weeks and committee members are reminding the community about events that require advance tickets.
The 2012 edition of WaynesboroFest, which began in 2000, will be held from Friday, June 29, through Sunday, July 8.
The event kicks off on June 29, when the Waynesboro Country Club will host a wine tasting and pairings with tapas at 6:30 p.m. for adults.
Advanced sales are encouraged to ensure adequate portions of food and wine. The cost is $20 per person.
Rounding out the 10-day celebration is the Taste of the Town on July 8 at 6 p.m. at the Waynesboro Country Club.
Sixteen local restaurants, caterers, chefs and food businesses will present their offerings. Live music will be provided by Cumberland Valley School of Music.
Spread among the food vendors will be paintings, sketches and unique artwork pieces from Waynesboro Studio Art Club members, accompanied by fresh flowers prepared by the Blue Ridge Garden Club and the Toll Gate Garden Club.
Tickets cost $25 each. Advanced ticket sales are encouraged as the number of tickets sold for this event are limited.
Tickets for both events are available in advance at the Waynesboro Area Chamber of Commerce office on Roadside Avenue, and Downtown Mainstreet on the square from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Green Arbor on Pa. 16 in Rouzerville from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Olde Town Touch in the Waynesboro Mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
