ROANOKE, Va.—
Roanoke Regional Airport will be upgrading back to first class, after a little more than a decade without it.On Monday, the airport announced that Delta Airlines will replace some regional jets with an Airbus A-319.
The last time daily, full-size jet service was available was October 2001.
The A-319 jet has 122 seats, and will give passengers a chance to fly in the first class cabin.
Flights will not be cut because of the new aircraft.
"Delta has had the good fortune to have very full flights for a very long time in this market, and they are responding to the demands of the traveling public," said Sherry Wallace of the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission. "This is a good sign for business and leisure travel."
You can expect to see one daily flight to and from Atlanta on the Airbus this coming September.
