School safety upgrades in Pittsylvania County aren't getting full support from the superintendent.
Last month Sheriff Mike Taylor introduced seven new features he believes all 20 county school need for safety.
The school's superintendent supports hiring 15 more armed School Resource Officers and installing intercoms and locks so visitors have limited access inside.
But he says having metal detectors at each school is going to be costly and slow operations at the school.
Two more town hall meetings are planned this month and next to get feedback from the community.
