LINDENHURST, NY (PIX11)—Police arrested a man Tuesday for driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a three-car crash in Lindenhurst, which left one woman seriously injured.
Thomas Clarry, 44, was driving a 2004 Jeep SUV westbound on Montauk Highway when he attempted to make a left onto S. Broadway.
Clarry collided with a 2003 Infiniti traveling eastbound being driven by Dina Gaballa, 31, at 5:13 p.m., police said. A 2000 Buick also traveling eastbound being driven by Jessica Napolitano, 39, clipped Gaballa's car after the initial crash.
Gaballa, her father Mohammed Gaballa, 68, her 4-year-old daughter, 2-year-old son, and a 9-year-old nephew all of Copiague, were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, with non-life threatening injuries. Dina Gaballa, suffered serious injuries, including a possible broken ankle, and the 9-year-old suffered facial injuries.
Clarry and Napolitano were left uninjured.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
First Squad detectives charged Clarry with Driving While Intoxicated. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 29.
