The Weir American Hydro Facility has plans to expand next year and will have 160 positions open. "We're very excited, this has been part of our long term strategy for many many years and that strategy is really to create the environment to spur this kind of development and more importantly for Springettsbury, for redevelopment," says Chairman of the Springettsbury Township Supervisors, Bill Schenck.
Owners of the bar, Banana Max will be redeveloping the vacant Charlie Brown's Restaurant, and have plans to open this fall. "There's some good re-use and re development, so we'll get some life back into that corner," says Schenck.
Another project in the works is a proposed Chick-Fil-A. If approved, this will go in place of the Blockbuster Video on East Market Street. "So far the way their plans are progressing it's really in their court they've complied with everything we would ask for so I see no reason to think why that plan would not be successful," says Schenck.
