A 34-year-old Gary man was arrested Thursday afternoon after a bank robbery in Michigan City, the Michigan City Police Department reported in a press release.

Officers were called to the 1st Source Bank at 3905 S. Franklin St. at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday in reference to a bank robbery that had just happened. Officers arrived south of the bank in the Marquette Mall parking lot and saw a suspect running toward a car.

An officer approached the suspect with his weapon drawn. Officers took Ricky S. Sease into custody about 4:25 p.m. and charged him with bank robbery of a financial institution, a Class C felony. Money was recovered as he was arrested.

Witnesses told police that a man had entered the bank and passed a robbery note. He mentioned a weapon but no weapon was displayed. He was given an undetermined amount of money, then fled on foot.
