Adalberto M. Perez, 66, of Inwood, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at City Hospital.
Born April 11, 1946 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Jose and Carmen Perez.
He served with the U.S. Navy, and retired after 34 years with the U.S. Air Force, with the rank of chief master sergeant.
Mr. Perez was the trail overseer of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the American Legion, NRA, USA Amateur Radio Association, AMVETS and North American Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa (Lawson) Perez; children, Jason and Christopher Rowland, Adalberto “Chuky” Perez and wife, Diane, and Alicia Perez and Tracy Howell; grandchildren, Jaden Butts, Marley Butts-Bennett, Christopher Rowland Jr., David Howell, Natasha Powell, Alecia and Tomi Howell, Alison, William and Jonathon Shumaker; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Doby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Rowland; and a brother, Jose Perez-Mercado Jr.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
