Bernadine Marie Gladhill, 86, of 723 Largo Drive, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at her home.
Born Saturday, March 20, 1926, in Sharpsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Henry Paul Stockslager and the late Mary Margaret (Mongan) Stockslager.
She was employed with Sears & Roebuck for 40 years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg, and a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary, BPO Elks 378. She also volunteered at Meritus Medical Center.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey L. Gladhill and wife, Frances, and Gary S. Gladhill, both of Hagerstown, and James S. Gladhill of Waynesboro, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Natalie R. Adams; and brothers, James B. Stockslager, Robert M. Stockslager, Bernard L. Stockslager and Ira P. Stockslager.
Memorial services will be Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mark Wassler officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Private interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
