Betty Juhe Whitten, 83, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born Nov. 4, 1929, in Chin Ju, South Korea, to the late Hwung Won Kim and Jung Sook Suh.
She has been an American citizen for 57 years.
She was a member of Hagerstown Korean Church Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eudell Garfield Whitten in 1987, who was a civil engineer and worked for the Pentagon.
Survivors include daughter, Vera E. Whitten of Hagerstown; grandson, L. Alexander Whitten of Hagerstown, grandson, Eric Whitten Fleegle of Hagerstown; great-grandson, Eric Robert Wallech of Hagerstown; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sung Hi Kang of Vienna, Va.; sister-in-law, Vera E. Barkley of Reseda, Calif.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert Eudell Whitten.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Yo Han Chin officiating.
