C. Geraldine Itnyer of Gaithersburg, Md., was called to rest May 17, 2011, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Merle Joseph Itnyer.
C. Geraldine, who was called “Deanie,” was born May 15, 1917, in Hagerstown. She was the daughter of the late Frank L. and E. Maud Hammond. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother of five.
She was a member of St. Peter’s (Beard’s) Lutheran Church. She started attending Beard’s Church at the age of 12 and served on many committees throughout the church.
Among her favorite hobbies were her flowers, and, most of all, baking many delicious desserts for her great-grandchildren. She always knew what each enjoyed and made sure they received them when they visited her.
She is survived by a daughter, Norma Jean Stouffer and husband, Charles, of Clarksburg, Md.; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
