Carol A. (Elgin) Baker Rembold, 74, of Keyser, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at her residence, after a short battle with cancer.
Born May 30, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Margaret (Wolfinberger) Elgin.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, George E. Baker Sr.; a brother, Cameron Elgin; in-laws, Lawrence and Edith Baker; and a son-in-law, Scott Hawkins.
Mrs. Rembold was a veteran of the U.S. Woman's Army Corps. She worked 10 years for Keyser Garment Factory, and retired from Dairy Mart in Bel Air, Md. She was a member, past president and secretary of the MARC Radio Club AJ3Y and attended Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport, Md. Carol loved to travel and spend time camping and playing cards with her many special friends.
Surviving are her husband, Gay L. Rembold; her children, Billy and Tara Baker of Wind Gap, Pa., Edie and Dick Kalbaugh of Cumberland, Md., George and Judy Baker of Hagerstown, Md., Pam and Steve Oates of Cumberland, and Bonnie and Jim Hannas of New Creek, W.Va.; her stepson, Marvin, and Terry Rembold of Grafton, W.Va.; her grandchildren, Shakira Kalbaugh of Cumberland, Jason Oates of Lexington Park, Md., and Bryan Oates of Cumberland. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, Tracy Szabo and Frank of Cleveland, Ohio, and Christopher and Lori Rembold of Cleveland; step-great-grandchildren, Samantha, Mark and Luke Szabo of Cleveland; and a sister-in-law, Mary Elgin of Orlando, Fla.
Friends will be received at Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10 a.m., with the Reverend Sally L. Bartling officiating.
Interment will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
