Carolyn Jeannette (Andrews) Smith, 78, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
Born Sept. 6, 1934, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry Jacob and Leona Jeannette (Mullenix) Andrews.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and hosting the many family gatherings.
Carolyn is survived by three daughters, Cindy Steigerwald, Kelly Murray and Amy Weaver; five sons, Pat Smith, Tracy Smith, Mike Smith, Tim Smith and Tony Smith; one brother, Harry "Sonny" Andrews; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Felicia Smith; one son, Chris Charles Smith; and three brothers, Mike Andrews, Tim Andrews and Jerry Andrews.
Carolyn is also survived by the father of her 10 beautiful children, Dr. Vincent P. Smith Sr.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown. Monsignor Alfred E. Smith will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
