Dennis I. Wilhide, 64, a resident of Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro and formerly of Keedysville, Md., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village.
Born on Aug. 24, 1947, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Irene R. (Summers) of Hagerstown and the late Timothy E. Wilhide.
Mount Vernon Reformed United Church of Christ in Keedysville.
Dennis was a 1967 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
Upon graduation from high school, Dennis worked as a tractor-trailer driver for various trucking companies in the Tri-State area for 30 years. Most recently, Dennis drove a tractor-trailer for Expedited Services Inc. of Hagerstown.
In addition to his mother, Dennis is survived by a brother, Wayne D. Wilhide of Hagerstown; two nieces, Carol and her husband, Gabriel Stride, and Stacy and her husband, Joshua Shanholtz, all of Hagerstown; and one nephew, Timothy Wilhide, also of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Betty K. Wilhide.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
