Doris L. Bowers, 83, of Homestead, Fla., and formerly of Falling Waters, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at her home.
Born May 16, 1929, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Rhines Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Bowers Jr., in 2007.
She was a homemaker.
Doris was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and the Ruritan, both of Falling Waters, and American Legion Post 202, Williamsport, Md., Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Hutchinson of Leesburg, Fla., Linda Rohrer of Tyrone, Ga., and Susan Bowers of Homestead; and a son, Mike Bowers of Falling Waters; a sister, Rose Christ, and a brother, Pete Wolfe, both of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Bowers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, MD 21795 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Md.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 29, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open Tuesday at 1 p.m.
