Dorothy Jane (Hilliard) Brown, 73, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at her home under the care of Hospice of Washington County.
Born June 30, 1939, in Martinsburg, W.Va., to the late Herman and Esther Turner Hilliard.
She was a 1957 graduate of Martinsburg High School Martinsburg. She was a 1958 graduate of West Virginia College of Beauty Culture.
She was the owner/operator of Jane’s Beauty Salon in Williamsport for 45 years.
She was a member for 47 years of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, and served as a deacon.
She was a member of Red Feather Council 59 Degree of Pocahontas, Williamsport.
Survivors include her husband, James “Art” Brown Jr., married for 50 years, of Williamsport; daughter, Julia Taylor and her husband, David, of Stafford, Va.; son, Jason Brown and his girlfriend, Lesley Johnson, of Unger, W.Va.; son, Jerred Brown of Williamsport; grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle, Angelica, Joshua, Kody, Tiffany, Jack, Gabriella and Olivia; five nephews; and one niece.
She was predeceased by one sister, Florence LeMaster; two brothers, Elmer “Hunky” Hilliard, Leroy Hilliard; and one niece, Janice LeMaster.
The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Sandell officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
