E. Madeline (Brown) Smith, 99, of Rohrersville, Md., passed from this life on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Born on Aug. 6, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Charles Luther Brown and Mary Bell (Daugherty) Brown Houser.
She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church at Locust Grove where she was active with the “True Blue” Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Rohrersville Homemaker’s Club.
Madeline was a homemaker and for 30 years she was the co-owner of Kline’s Gallery in Boonsboro.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia E. Kline and husband Gale of Boonsboro, Md.; three grandsons, Dana G. Kline and his wife Carol of Rosemont, Md., David H. Kline and his wife Irina of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Carroll Michael Kline and his wife, Robyn of Woodbine, Md. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Madeline was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate. Immediately following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at the Mount Zion Cemetery at Locust Grove in Rohrersville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the funeral home
