Edward Earle Talbert, 65, of 362 Radcliffe Ave. in Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his home.
Born Wednesday, March 19, 1947, in Boonsboro, Md., he was the son of the late Erle Preston Talbert and Genevieve (Brandenburg) Talbert.
He graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1965. He was employed by the Chewsville Co-op for many years, and later retired from AC&T.
He was a member of South Mountain Rod & Gun Club, but would be most remembered for his involvement in local softball leagues, where he played on numerous teams throughout the region.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Talbert; daughter, Susan M. Mades and her husband, Mark, of Hagerstown; son, Edward C. Talbert and his wife, Brenda, of Hagerstown; stepdaughter, Amy M. Brown and her husband, Shawn, of Waynesboro, Pa.; stepson, Richard C. Doll of Chambersburg, Pa.; five brothers, Ronnie L. Talbert, Robert E. Talbert and Dennis C. Talbert, all of Boonsboro, Allen R. Talbert of Keedysville, Md., and Carroll L. Talbert of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Emily, Drew, Mia, Victoria and Clayton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly A. Haupt.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with Pastor Victor Johnson officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
