Enid Hoffer Leiter, 90, beloved wife of Lewis M. Leiter of Hanover, Pa., entered into God's eternal care Friday, March 25, 2011, at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born April 11, 1920, in Hagerstown, Md., she was a daughter of the late Henry W. and Ruth Grady Hoffer. A 1938 graduate of Hagerstown High School, she had lived in southern California for 47 years before moving to Homewood at Plum Creek 19 years ago.
Mrs. Leiter was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, and was a former member of Hanover Garden Club, Hanover Historical Society and Hanover Country Club. She enjoyed her role as a homemaker but found time to serve in secretarial positions at several places her husband's business took her.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of nearly 70 years, is her daughter, Lynda Olmsted of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons, Jeffrey Leiter of Dallas, Texas, and Lewis Leiter Jr. of Frederick, Md.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 Potomac St., Hagerstown. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Homewood Chapel at Plum Creek, Hanover, with the Rev. Douglas Smith officiating both services.
