Floyd Clarence Myers Jr., 88, of 364 Antietam Drive, Hagerstown, Md., passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.
Born Feb. 15, 1924 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Floyd Clarence Myers Sr. and Grace Irene Barton Myers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Juanita Myers, on May 10, 2005.
He served 30 years in the U.S. Navy/Air Force, in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant.
He retired from Fairchild Corporation in 1986.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, AMVETS Post 10, and the North American Rod and Gun Club.
Floyd loved to fish, loved his family, was a man of good humor, and loved the military and his country.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Warrenfeltz and husband, Eldon, of Chewsville, Md., and Hope M. Nittinger of Hagerstown; four sons, Michael D. Myers of Hagerstown, Allan W. Myers and wife, Linda, of Arizona, Steven L. Myers of Chewsville, and Kurt A. Myers and wife, Holly, of Hagerstown; two sisters, Peggy Kinsey and Leona "Sis" Peterson; one brother, Harry "Butch" Myers; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Cramer and Rose Davis; and two brothers, Jack Myers and Richard Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
